  “How do I look?”

Jake turned from fussing with Eli’s tail, to look at Sebastian. He couldn’t do anything but stare. The man was gorgeous, with his dark hair and dark eyes and a bit of scruff on his face. He looked dangerous. He had on a long flowing shirt and red vest. Tight black pants and black boots topped off his pirate outfit. He was sexy as hell. If it wasn’t for two kids eager to get out the door, he’d cancel all their plans, call the sitter, and take Sebastian somewhere and ravage him.

“You have a little drool there.” Sebastian pointed to his lip, smirking at him. “You like?”

Jake wiped at his face, just in case. “Me like.”

“Bath and I are twins, daddy.” She swung the plastic sword that matched the one Sebastian had. He knew before the night was over, he could be confiscating it, either because she was whining about carrying it or because she thrashed somebody, probably Eli, with it.

“Yes, you are. Everyone looks great.”

“Your turn, daddy,” Myka said. “Get dressed. You’re making us late.”

“Bossy.” But Jake did as she asked and put on his costume. He thought he made a pretty good Peter Pan. He wasn’t especially happy about the fact that he was wearing tights, but it was worth it when he saw the look in Sebastian’s eyes.

  “Now that’s hot.” Sebastian said.

  “Are you hot, daddy”

“Never mind that. You guys ready to go?”

They walked around the houses in their neighborhood first, while it was still light out. Myka lost her eyepatch after the second house, and Eli kept pushing his hat down. Jake was glad then that they didn’t go with the more elaborate costume. Eli would have stripped out of that right away.

Jake thought that Sebastian was enjoying his day. He giggled with Myka, stole pieces of candy, and even said “trick-or-treat” with the kids when they reached the doors. He was like a big kid. And it made Jake happy to see him having fun.

After trick-or-treating locally, they headed out to see friends and family they were obligated to go see. Their closest friend, and sometime lawyer, Rob answered the door complaining about all the kids running around. At least until he saw their costumes. He smiled. “You wearing that to the party tonight?”

  “Yes.”

“No,” Sebastian said at the same time.

Rob gave each kid, and Sebastian, a full-sized candy bar. The bowl of candy he was giving out sat on a table by the door. It contained Tootsie Rolls. Jake shook his head at his friend’s attempt to spoil the kids. It wasn’t like he was going to let them have all that candy anyway.

Next, they went to Fay’s diner. The smell of pie almost convinced Jake to stay awhile, but Myka stomped her foot at him. Allison was already there so they didn’t need to make an extra stop. She was Fay’s daughter and Jake’s best friend. She also used to be the kids’ nanny.

They didn’t go see Sebastian’s family since they all lived in Kansas City, and Jake figured they didn’t believe in Halloween anyway. They took pictures and posted them on Facebook for everyone to see. Sebastian was not thrilled with that idea, but he didn’t fight too hard. Jake was surprised to see that Sebastian’s brother, William, had posted pictures of his kids out trick-or-treating. Was there more to the story of why Sebastian never dressed up?

The kids were exhausted by the time they got home. They had their bath and obligatory bedtime story. Or two. Or three. They weren’t asleep by the time the sitter arrived, but they were close.

Sebastian seemed to have enjoyed his evening, but Jake knew this next part would be the real test. Going out in costume, seeing all their friends, and not having the buffer the kids provided.

As soon as they got in the car Sebastian started griping. “Why are we going out again?”

“Come on, Bas. We talked about this. It’ll be fun.” Sebastian hadn’t complained at all about his costume while they were trick-or-treating with the kids. At times, though, Jake caught him running his hands through his hair nervously.

Jake hoped they could get through the night and have a good time. But now he wasn’t sure that was possible.

“You misunderstand me,” Sebastian said. “I don’t mind going, but your ass looks incredible in those tights, and I’d rather be tapping that instead of going to a party.”

“No reason we can’t do both. After the party, anyway. You know what I mean.”

“Got it. No sex at the party.”

Jake laughed. “Besides, we already told Fay we’d be there.”

Cars lined the driveway and down the street. They had to walk half a block to reach the house. Fay opened the door in a gypsy costume. She ushered them in and pointed them towards the drinks.

Greg and his girlfriend, Abigail, were already there dressed up as 80’s rock stars. At least that was Jake’s best guess. Greg had worked late so they couldn’t bring the kids by earlier. They chatted with them for a few minutes until Sebastian pulled away.

“I’m getting a drink. Do you want anything?”

“I’ll go with you,” Jake said.

Sebastian got himself a beer and Jake a soda, since he was the designated driver. Sebastian didn’t usually drink. Jake raised an eyebrow at his choice.

“I need a little help to get through this.” He took a long pull from the beer.

Jake admired his neck as he swallowed. Maybe they should have just stayed in. But the great thing about being at an adult party versus hanging out with the kids, he could touch Sebastian all he wanted. He took Sebastian’s hand and pulled him closer. Threading his fingers through the curls at the back of his neck, he pulled him into a kiss. Jake could taste the beer on his lips.

Sebastian groaned. “I want you,” he whispered against Jake’s ear.

This really was a bad idea.

“What have we got here?” They broke apart to see Allison staring at them, her hands on her hip. She was dressed as a sexy Mary Poppins. Appropriate. “Honestly, guys,” she said. “I’ve imagined Captain Hook and Peter Pan together. I mean who hasn’t? But seeing it brought to life, right in front of me? It’s…” She paused for effect. She was dramatic like that. “Rather unsettling.”

  “Rude.”

“Sorry, Jake. You’re like my brother. Now there’s an adorable James Bond in the next room, and Bas, honey, if you want to make out with him…”

“There will be no making out between James Bond and Captain Hook. This is my pirate. Get your own.”

The party proved to be fun. They hadn’t had any adult interaction except for work in a while. Jake enjoyed hanging out with friends and just being with his boyfriend. He touched Sebastian whenever he had a chance. He’d sneak a kiss when they were alone in the kitchen and leaned back against his chest when they sat on the couch together. Sebastian wrapped his arm around Jake as he chatted with Aaden and his business partner, Victor. They owned a private detective agency. They were experts at finding things and people. Aaden had helped Greg and Jake several times in the past.

Other times Sebastian pushed it too far. Jake suspected his goal was revenge. Even though he could tell Sebastian was having fun, he obviously wanted to torture Jake for making him come. A stray touch here and there. As Sebastian had more drinks, he became even more brazen, kissing Jake’s neck in the middle of a conversation Jake was having with Rob. The older man shook his head and walked away. Sebastian had him so riled up by the end of the day, he just wanted to drag him home. They left earlier than most of the other guests. Jake apologized to Fay, but she shook her head with a laugh. “Hell, boy. If I had a sexy Captain Hook to go home to, I wouldn’t be here either.”

Sebastian drove him crazy during the car ride home. He wouldn’t keep his hands to himself.

“if you don’t stop, I’m gonna make you walk the plank,” Jake said, with a stern look that was wasted on Sebastian.

“Watch out for the crocodiles.” Sebastian giggled, swiping at the air with his sword.

  God, he was
adorable.

“I’ve been looking forward to this all night. I hope you’re not too drunk.”

“Nope. I’m good.” Sebastian straightened up in his seat and dropped his sword. He sounded slightly less intoxicated. “I didn’t drink that much.” He held up his fingers to indicate how much, but he couldn’t get it quite right. He giggled again.

“Just keep it together, man. That’s all I ask.”

They returned home without Jake crashing the car. After paying the sitter and sending her on her way, they checked on the kids. They were sound asleep.

Jake pulled Sebastian into their room. They were finally alone.

  Chapter 5

As soon as the door shut, Jake pinned Sebastian to the door. “I wanted to do this all night,” he said, kissing him deeply. He nipped at Sebastian's jaw, rubbing their stubbled chins together.

Sebastian thrust against him urgently, his hands tightened around Jake’s hips, holding him in place.

“You're so gorgeous babe,” Jake said, his hand caressing the side of Sebastian’s face. “Thank you for today.”

Although Sebastian's hands still rested on Jake’s hips, he was no longer moving.

Jake pulled back to look in his eyes. “Babe?”

“I need to tell you something.”

  “Crap. That doesn't sound good.”

Sebastian smiled, but it was a little sad. Jake ran his fingers through Sebastian’s wavy hair encouraging him to talk.

“I didn't tell you everything.” He looked into Jake's eyes. “I did go out one Halloween, but it didn't end well.”

Jake took his hand and pulled him over to the bed, so they could sit down. “Do you want to tell me about it?”

Sebastian shook his head. “No. But I need to. I don’t want there to be any secrets between us.” He sighed. “It’s not a big deal,” he said. “It’s just humiliating.” He hesitated, and Jake waited, wanting to give him the time he needed. “You're always so sure of yourself, Jake. And you're tough. You took care of your brother and your family growing up. I wasn’t like that.”

“Hey, Bas,” Jake stroked his cheek with his thumb. “I think you’re amazing. And I love you just the way you are. You know that right?”

“Yes, I do.” He took Jake's hand and held it while he talked. “I was around twelve. I’d always wanted to go trick-or-treating. Everybody else was doing it. I didn't understand why we couldn't. We had our family dinner, and afterwards I went to my room. I decided to dress up--as a mummy.” He chuckled at this. “I cut up a bed sheet and wrapped the strips around me. I looked pathetic.”

“I bet you looked adorable,” Jake said. “But I can’t believe you snuck out,” Sebastian always obeyed the rules. At least until Jake came along.

“I can’t believe it either, but I did. I'd never had the courage to do that before or the opportunity. I convinced Zachary to take me. He had just gotten his license.”

“Wait,” Jake said. “You convinced Zachary to help you? Douche bag Zachary?” Jake knew he shouldn't say stuff like that about Sebastian's brother, but the man hadn’t been that supportive of them. It was getting better. Jake didn’t want to think about the fact that Zachary probably had a good reason for that.

“You’d be surprised. Zachary was a very protective older brother when I was younger. After a while, he became less protective of me and more protective of the business. Anyway, he agreed to take me. I was at that age where it may or may not have been acceptable to trick-or-treat. Some people didn't seem to mind. Others gave me funny looks, but they still gave me candy. Zachary drove but he stayed in the car. He didn’t want to be seen with me.” He shrugged and then got quiet.

  “What happened?”

Sebastian’s jaw tightened. “These older boys noticed me. They were throwing pumpkins in the street and making lots of noise. I didn't realize they were actually following me until they had me cornered. I'd been walking from house to house, and Zachary was a little bit behind in the car.” He swallowed, his eyes bright with unshed tears. “They drug me behind some houses in a secluded area. I was terrified.”

Jake squeezed his hand, letting him know he was still there, and that he was safe. “What did they do?” He wasn’t sure he really wanted to know. He swallowed down the fear and anger churning in his body. He needed to be calm for Sebastian.

“They made fun of me. Told me I was too old to trick-or-treat. Then they pushed me down and kicked me.” He took a shaky breath. “They roughed me up a little bit. I had a few bruises and a split lip. Nothing major, but it scared the hell out of me.”

Jake wanted to find those boys and hurt them. It was irrational, since it happened so long ago. “Did they let you go?”

Sebastian smiled sadly at the memory. “Zachary showed up, threatening to beat the crap out of them. They didn’t back down at first, but Zach threw some punches, and they realized he wasn’t just some preppy rich kid. Zach knew how to fight. They scurried off, and he took me back to the house.” He sighed. “Zach didn't say anything. I didn't say anything. But mom sure as hell did as soon as we came through the door. She grounded me for a month, and Zachary for two.” He shook his head. “I never wanted to celebrate Halloween after that.”

“Sorry that happened to you,” Jake said softly, resting their heads together. His heart squeezed at the thought of that little boy going through that. And for the man before him.

“It was mostly fear,” Sebastian said. “I mean, I knew it wouldn't happen again. I knew it was nothing to be afraid of but the thought of dressing up and going out--I couldn't do it.”

“I’m sorry I pushed you to go with us today.”

“I'm not,” Sebastian said. “I had a great time. Spending the day with you and the kids was amazing, Jake. Seeing it from their eyes…seeing how magical it could be. It made me realize what I'd missed but also appreciate what I’ve gained. You mean so much to me. All of you.” He kissed him again. Jake tasted the salt from his tears.

“You’re not that kid anymore, Bas. You’re not powerless. And you’ve always got us.” He threaded their fingers together. “And maybe even Zachary.”

Sebastian laughed, kissing Jake. “Thank you.”

“I’ve got an idea. Why don't we get these stupid costumes off, and I'll take care of you, babe. Tell me what you want.”

Sebastian looked away, biting his lip. “Actually, I was thinking we could keep the costumes on. I could be the Captain Hook to your Peter Pan.”

  “Kinky, I like it.”

Although, Sebastian was socially awkward, except when he was in court, in the bedroom he had more experience than Jake. Sebastian was the one and only guy he’d ever been with. Occasionally, he liked to take charge, but mostly he enjoyed Sebastian dominating him. It reminded him of when Sebastian took charge in the courtroom, and it absolutely turned him on.

“Come here my little wayward boy,” Sebastian said, pulling Jake off the bed and into his arms.

“Oh, is that what you’re into?”

“I like my boys all grown up, thank you very much. Especially where it counts.” He traced the outline of Jake’s erection through his tights before squeezing him.

Jake pushed against his hand with a moan. “Glad you're not using your hook,” he said with a breathless chuckle.

“What about my sword?” Sebastian gave him a cheeky grin. “Can I use my sword?”

“Well, I do have a few ideas on where you can put it.” Jake reached around to grab his ass.

“I’m in charge here.” Sebastian stepped back, pulling Jake’s hands to hold in front of him.

  “Aye, Captain.”

“You’re my prisoner. And you’ll do what I want.”

“Aye, Captain.” Jake’s voice went impossibly low. He loved when Sebastian took charge.

“I want you to undress me.”

His cock hardened at the command, but Jake couldn’t resist teasing him. “And if I don't?”

  “Is
it punishment, you’re after?” Sebastian’s grip on his hands tightened.

God, did he want to be punished. But Jake had been more than ready half the night. He wasn't sure how much longer he could wait.

“No, Captain,” he said looking up at him through lowered lashes. “I’ll do whatever you want.” Jake pulled his hands out of Sebastian’s loose grip and unbuttoned his red vest. He pulled it off, slowly, taking his time undressing him. “Can I leave the shirt on?” Jake had been fantasizing about Sebastian in nothing but that white shirt all night.

“Yes.” Sebastian’s voice sounded breathless. “But could you go a little faster?”

Jake smiled as he stripped him the rest of the way, enjoying the sight of his gorgeous pirate. The shirt covered him, but barely. The white of the shirt contrasted with his tanned thighs. It tented in front, highlighting Sebastian’s eagerness. The first few buttons of the shirt were undone and the dark hair on his chest peeked through. Jake itched to touch him, but he didn’t dare. Sebastian watched him, his eyes intent on him. Jake was already so hard. “Aren't you going to do any work?”

“I'm the captain, and you're just a man-boy in tights,” Sebastian said. “Tights that need to come off right now.” His commanding voice had all his blood flowing south, and Jake held back a whine. He almost begged him to take him right then.

Jake quickly stripped and waited for further instructions.

“On the bed, on all fours. I want you ready and waiting for me.”

Jake did as he told was told, grabbing a pillow to lean on. They usually had sex face to face, but for some reason doing it this way, like they were strangers or enemies, was exciting. He heard the drawer of the nightstand open, and he knew Sebastian was getting the supplies they kept there. His body pulsed in anticipation. The waiting was agony. “Bas,” he said in desperation. “Please.”

“Patience.” The bed dipped as Sebastian moved behind him. “You look good spread out like that. Just for me.”

“Yes.” Jake sighed. “Just for you.” He felt the tip of Sebastian’s finger rubbing against his hole. Before he could beg for more, Sebastian slid his finger in. It felt amazing. But Jake wanted more.
